NetPro has recently joined the SecureIT Alliance, a MSFT-sponsored consortium of ISVs and services companies focused on increasing MSFT platform security. Gerry Albert, formerly in the globally managed ISV group, is the instigator of the Alliance.
The Alliance is not fully baked yet, but the gist of it has two components: a forum for member vendors to collaborate and publish more complete security solutions for Windows, and a community resource for customers focused on Windows platform security. Its an interesting idea, and I'm particularly curious to see how vendors who typically compete (NetPro, NetIQ, Quest for instance) will end up using the forum.
Time will tell.
